#RainbowSnippets: Quartz and Prunella

Welcome to Rainbow Snippets!

Every Saturday, those participating post and share six sentences of LGBTQIA+ fiction at their blogs. It can be their own. It can be someone else’s. It just needs to be LGBTQIA+.

Here I go, picking up right where I left off last week with Quartz and Prunella…it’s slightly longer than six sentences, but they’re very short sentences.

“He’s interesting.” The words slipped out before I could stop them. “Irritating, yet entertaining. Even if he lacks a beard.”

A loud snort filled the entire cavern with steam, making me cough again. “Interesting. You think Nimmie Not is interesting?”

    1. Thank you! I got the name from a children’s collection of fairy tales I had when I was little, a story called ‘The Tale of Tom Tit Tot.” It was similar to the Rumplestiltskin legend in many ways with a strange little man helping a woman out of a jam with a large amount of impossible tasks she had to do or forfeit her life…with him demanding that she guess his name or she’d become his. She caught him singing a rhyme, “Nimmie nimmie not/My name is Tom Tit Tot.” It occurred to me that Nimmie Not sounded like a great name for a tricky sprite and/or kobold. 🙂
